is a well-known floral, home & garden gift shop in Minneapolis. "Loading the Squash Cart" was
produced exclusively to commemorate the company's 110th anniversary (see photo
of bottom-stamp). This highly
collectible piece is a replica of an original Bachman's horse-drawn harvest
cart from the early 1900's when they were still a vegetable farm. "Squash Cart" was only in
production for one year. The design
shows a wagon pulled by two horses. The
driver holds the cord reins while another man rides in back atop the load of
green squash. This piece is primarily
porcelain. The wheels, undercarriage
and shafts are metal. The wheels do not
turn. Note the real chain attached to
the hitch. This is a hand-painted,
hand-assembled item thus there may be normal imperfections and variations in coloring. It comes in the original box and sleeve and has
been carefully stored indoors in a smoke-free home.
Please look at all the photos
to appreciate the character and quality of this piece. I provide
lots of pictures, including close-ups, and am up front about any damage or
flaws I find, so you will know exactly what you are getting. Please contact me if you have any questions.
