DIVINE ANTIQUE FRENCH 19thC HAND PAINTED ON PORCELAIN COMEDY/TRAGEDY MASKS THEATER INTERESTPretty hand painted on porcelain theater masks of Tragedy and Comedy depicted here with a quiver of arrows symbolizing love c1890. Pretty colors of blue, touches of gold surrounding the frame with pinks and greens, the masks are in black and nude. No makers mark or signature. The frame is heavy, possibly bronze as it has tested non magnetic - it looks as though it was once painted gold although this has all but worn away over the passage of time. Beaded frame with scrolled top, loop to the reverse for hanging. There are two small screws to the base - photo 4 where it looks as though this was once screwed to something else, possibly a stand. The plaque is a little loose within the frame, but is not damaged with just minor surface scratches.
