THIS IS ONE OF SEVERAL DECOYS I RECENTLY PURCHASED AT AN ESTATE SALE THAT I WILL BE LISTING THIS WEEK. I AM NOT SURE OF THE MAKER OF THIS DECOY. IT APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN MADE BY THE DODGE DECOY COMPANY OF DETROIT, MICHIGAN.WHICH WAS IN BUSINESS FROM AROUND 1872 UNTIL 1894. IT COULD ALSO BE AN EARLY MASON DECOY. THERE APPEARS TO BE SOME ORIGINAL PAINT AND SOME WORKING REPAINT. YOU WILL HAVE TO BE THE JUDGE ON THAT. THIS IS A PAINTED EYE DECOY.IF I HAD TO GUESS THE AGE OF THIS DECOY, I WOULD DEFINITELY THINK BEFORE 1900.IF YOU HAVE ANY INFORMATION I COULD PASS ON TO buyers, I WOULD APPRECIATE IT.I WILL COMBINE SHIPPING On Mar-04-13 at 17:32:35 PST, seller added the following information:
Hi Bob--Yes, it was made by the Dodge Decoy Factory about 1900. Dodge made decoys in the backyard beginning about 1878, and in his factories from 1883 to 1908.
