OFFERED is a rare occupational portrait of a duck hunter with his dog, muzzle-loading shotgun, powder flask, and a brace of ducks. This image is a quarter plate that would date from the 1860s. His pipe, slouch hat, and satisfied appearance show that his hunting day was successful.. While he holds his dog closely, the retriever's head moved during the exposure.
Resting in a full case, the image is in very good condition. The exposure is slightly dark.
