Darling Vintage Strung1953 Muffie Doll In Htf Rare Dress By Nancy Ann Storybook:
Here today for your consideration is a darling vintage hard plastic non walker strung Muffie doll made by Nancy Ann Storybook in 1953. This little 1953 sweetie pie is the 1st Muffie doll produced by Nancy Ann Storybook. Her face is so cute with open and close gray/blue eyes that work, black painted upper eyelashes, nicely blushed cheeks and tiny red painted lips. One of the characteristics of this 1953 Muffie doll is to have no eyebrows. Although Muffie displays very cute, she does have a couple of issues. I believe someone, probably her original owner, has cut her hair length, so it looks like a pageboy style, the skin color of her eyelids are somewhat scratched, and lastly she has a start of a shoulder seam separation, as shown in picture #10, it does not prevent her from holding a pose with her arms. Otherwise her joints are good and well strung. In 1953 none of the Muffie dolls clothing were tagged but this beautiful dress #610 is shown on pages 30 and 33 of the Muffie Puzzle Almost Solved book. Muffie is wearing a htf seldom seen adorable little dress that is made of a beautiful blue embossed satin fabric with white venetian lace trim on the bodice and sleeves, a white cotton fabric attached slip with lace trim, closing in the back with the original intact brass snap. Muffie is wearing her original white organdy panties with upside-down heart lace trim and a great elastic waist band. Muffie is wearing white rubber shoes that are not original to her outfit and a really cute head piece adorned of paper greenery and tiny fuzzy pink and ivory flowers. The dress is perfect, in like new condition, with only one small yellow spot the size of a pencil eraser on the underside of the dresses hem but does not show through to the right side of the fabric. Even with her flaws sweet little Muffie looks like a precious delicate angel. She would make a wonderful addition to a Storybook doll collection or to be displayed with her best friend the Ginny doll. Thanks for taking a look and God Bless.
