David Wright, Carol Day, 5 Originals From #2086-2091, Jimmy Hayes, No Reserve For Sale
Here are 5 Carol Day originals from the Carol Day story, Jimmy Hayes, which ran from May through October, 1963. The strips are #2086-2087 and 2089-2091. Jimmy Hayes is a story about a wealthy, middle-aged businessman who pursues Carol and becomes a target of the gossip magazines. In this sequence Jimmy, Carol and Joe wind up their visit to Jimmy’s house and then arrange the magazine feature about Jimmy with Joe’s editor.
Size of each is about 19 inches by 7.375 inches, except for 2089 which has the right and left margins trimmed. It is about 17.625 x 7.375 inches. Image size is consistently about 4.875 by 16.875 inches. Dialog balloons are pasted up, and there is some light staining and minor damage in a few of the dialog balloon. Also note that in the middle panel of 2089 Carol and Joe’s dialog is pasteup of a foreign language translation (Dutch?). There’s some soiling and smudging, mainly in the margins.
If you want to read the story these examples are from, Jimmy Hayes is available as an ebook on all Amazon sites worldwide for $2.99 or the equivalent in Euros or British pounds. It’s best using the Kindle app on the iPad (or another tablet) or Amazon’s Cloud Reader on a Mac or Windows PC, but it’s certainly enjoyable on the Kindle.
Postage is $25 in the US by priority mail, with delivery confirmation and insurance. Out of the US postage is $70 for Express Mail. Paypal only. I apologize for the high shipping costs, especially for out of the US buyers. International postage rates went up this year, and now that charges their % on top of shipping costs, I still won’t break even on postage even at this price. and paypal charges add over $9 to the shipping cost on an out-of-US order.
I have Carol Day #21 from the first story up for sale this week as well. Shipping on that one is free if combined with this lot.
