Decorated Native American Pottery by Roberta Silas (1936-2009):
$139.00

This Hopi pottery is beautifully decorated and signed by Roberta Youvula Silas (1936 - 2009). I\'ve been told the proper spelling of her maiden name is Youvela, with an E. You can see on the bottom of the pot that it looks like a U. Either spelling aside, it\'s a pretty pot. And those who know her work will recognize the excellent design and workmanship. She was an active potter from 1960 thru the early 80\'s. She lived in the village of Polacca at First Mesa. She grew up studying the ancient pottery shards found in that area and based her design concepts on patterns found on early pottery. She is the mother of several well-known potters: Antoinette Silas, Venora Silas, Loriann Silas, and Jofern Silas Puffer. This pot is about 6 inches tall and 6.5 inches in diameter. It has a chip, but it\'s still a beautiful piece. Start is less than my cost at sale. Chip included. I need the space. Email if you have questions.

THE SMALL PRINT.Shipping will be Priority mail. I ship fast because I really appreciate getting fast payment.
