Original Concept Art for new animated film by Dice Tsutsumi and Robert Kondo
This is an exploration of the main character of Dice's new animated short film, The Dam Keeper (working title). He drew several sketches to explore different looks for the characters. This short animated film, which he is creating with his fellow Pixar Art Director, Robert Kondo, is about finding an unlikely hero in an unlikely place. They are in pre-production right now and hope to release the film in the summer. We've listed other concept art for the film, so please search for Robert Kondo or Dice Tsutsumi to browse through all the work. We'll be selling the sketches that Robert and Dice create for the film each week on , so please check back for more in the coming weeks. Proceeds will be used to fund the film.

Bio: Diceis a well known art Director at Pixar and art directed the Academy Award winning film Toy Story 3. His paintings have exhibited in galleries around the world, children's books, and film.Originally from Japan,Dicewent into the world of animation through successful roles at Lucas Learning Ltd. and Blue Sky Studios, creators of Robots, Ice Age, and Horton Hears a Who! In 2007,Dicejoined Pixar Animation Studios as an art director on the Academy Award winning film Toy Story 3.
Diceregularly exhibits his original paintings in various galleries around the world. In addition, he published a children's book, I Can Hear in Japan.
Dicestrongly believes in bringing the artistic community together for various charitable causes. He has led successful charity initiatives such as theTotoro Forest Projectenvironmental project andArtists Help Japan, the latter of which raised funds for Japan earthquake disaster relief. Most recently he founded the Sketchtravel project, a unique international charity art project: A red sketchbook was passed from one artist's hand to another like an Olympic torch in an artistic relay through 12 countries over 4 and half years. This traveling museum contains the personal visions of 71 exceptional illustrators, animators and comic book artists, including artists such as Bill Plympton, James Jean, Rebecca Dautremer, Glen Keane, Frederick Back, and Hayao Miyazaki. Proceeds from the sale and royalties from the book's publication were donated to the international literacy non-profit,Room to Readand were already used to fund building 5 libraries in SE Asia.
