Original Concept Art for new animated film by Dice Tsutsumi and Robert KondoThis is a an exploration of the main character in Dice's new animated short film. He drew several sketches to explore different looks for the characters. This short animated film, which he is creating with his fellow Pixar Art Director, Robert Kondo, is about finding an unlikely hero in an unlikely place. They are in pre-production right now and hope to release the film in the summer. charitable causes. He has led successful charity initiatives such as the Totoro Forest Projectenvironmental project andArtists Help Japan,
the latter of which raised funds for Japan earthquake disaster relief.
Most recently he founded the Sketchtravel project, a unique
international charity art project: A red sketchbook was passed from one
artist's hand to another like an Olympic torch in an artistic relay
through 12 countries over 4 and half years. This traveling museum
contains the personal visions of 71 exceptional illustrators, animators
and comic book artists, including artists such as Bill Plympton, James
Jean, Rebecca Dautremer, Glen Keane, Frederick Back, and Hayao
Miyazaki. Proceeds from the sale and royalties from the book's
publication were donated to the international literacy non-profit,Room to Readand were already used to fund building 5 libraries in SE Asia.
