Fine original letter and envelope in German sent from the Duchess of Kent (Mother of Queen Victoria) to her relative Count Alphonse de Mensdorff-Pouilly in Boskowitz, Moravia dated August 19th 1854:\"My very dear Alphonse, How nice and good it is of you to have thought of the birthday of your old Aunt. A thousand thanks for your dear letter of the 13th that I received on the 17th. I am spending this day, that brings me each year nearer to my end, cheerful and happy surrounded by my dear ones. Before I continue to write I must wish you hasppiness on your brother Arthur\'s birthday. To hear that you are worrying about your youngest children saddens me a lot. I wish you could go to Dohl where the wonderful air, good water, also the baths are so outstanding and would also benefit you.I have written to you only recently and my eyes are so bad that I must already say farewell.A thousand regards to your Resi. Your loving Aunt Victoria. Do write again soon to say how your children are.\"AE063_034
