Duke Kahanamoku Vintage 1940s Rayon Aloha Shirt Sz L C48 Hawaiian Hula Girls For Sale
From Duke Kahanamoku and the 1940s comes this vintage aloha shirt in a cold and silky 100% rayon (hand washable cool very gently and drip dry or dry clean) with a wonderful Hawaiian inspired print featuring hula girls, flowers, and leaves in greens, butter yelow, gray, white, and black on a dark burgundy wine purple background. This shirt has long sleeves with an adjustable button cuff, the classic 1940s long exaggerated collar, two unmatched front breast pockets,a straight hem, and a six plastic buttons front closure including a tiny button and loop closure at the neck; the buttonholes are sewn horizontally. This shirt is a vintage size large (please check your measurements against mine) -- the chest measures 48 inches, the waist measures 46 inches, the hips measure 46 inches, and it's 27 inches long from shoulder to hem. Sleeve length measures 24 inches, and shoulder to shoulder measures 19 inches. [I see that one of my esteemed competitors here up on the 'bay is offering this shirt in a different colorway -- his (or her) shirt has all its original tags and was made by Cisco; I suspect my shirt comes from Cisco as well.]
This shirt is in excellent condition for its age; the fabric is still strong with no fading or dye bleed. There is a hole near the second large button from the top; it looks like that button popped off there, stressing the fabric, and was resewn back on. There are two tiny pinholes near the collar, and another tiny (about 1/16ths of an inch around) hole on the left front side.

Some of these items may need to be dry-cleaned or at least pressing -- I'll start the offers low to compensate for this. Ours is a nonsmoking home, but we do have a dear calico cat.
