This 100% silk Houmongi features a lovely dusty rose color. Houmongi are one of the more formal Kimonos, and are commonly worn to events like tea ceremonies and friends\' weddings! While the background hue is muted, the lovely dyed peonies (botan) and chrysanthemums (kiku) are bright with beautiful gold glazing. Based on the length of the sleeves and the saturated red lining, this Kimono dates to around the 1940\'s or pre-WWII era.✂ --- M E A S U R E M E N T S --- ✂

This Houmongi is in good vintage condition! There will be patina and yellowing on the lighter dyed parts of the silk, and some yellowing (or perhaps dirt) is seen on the collar. There is a small magenta stain on one of the panels as pictured in the last photo. There are some small snags or pinholes. The Kimono has a bit of a worn feeling, as well. But otherwise, this piece is still beautiful and completely wearable if you don\'t mind the flaws!
