Check it out...Here's a classic 7 1/4" wide by 10 1/2" tall typed letter on official ABC broadcasting Corporation letterhead from former Dwight "Ike" Eisenhower White House aide James Haggerty (died in 1981). Letterhead reads: "American Broadcasting Companies, Inc. 1330 Avenue of the Americas New York, NY 10019 (phone) LT1 – 7777. James C Haggerty, Vice President, Corporate Relations". Letter is dated December 27, 1971 (just 2 days after Christmas) and reads: "Mr. Elmer Koppelman 93 Highland Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin 53085. Dear Mr. Koppelman: Many thanks for your letter of December 16. I was happy to autograph cards which you enclosed. I think the best answers to the questions you asked, are contained in a private letter, which President Eisenhower sent to me after he had left the White House. It relates his own personal feeling on the accomplishments of his administration as well as being a very good indicator of his own personal qualities. Sincerely, (signed in ink) Jim Haggerty"– folded as mailed – great historic item from a man closely associated with Ike and mentioning Eisenhower in the content body of the letter.
