E.g. Webster & Son Sterling Silver Demitasse: New York State National Guard 23rd:
Awaiting your purchase is an unusual American sterling silver demitasse spoon, made by E.G. Webster & Son of Brooklyn, New York, commemorating the 23rd Infantry Regiment of the New York State National Guard. The ornate stem, formed of a rifle (flintlock?), two Flag poles and the Stars & Stripes, supports a cross to which is attached a circular emblem with the number "23" and surrounded by a belt bearing the words "Vigilantia, N.G.S. N.Y." The gilded bowl shows a detailed engraved picture of a European chateau with tower and Flag pole. This could possibly be a picture of building associated with the regiment's action in the First World War (as the 106th Infantry Regiment). This appealing spoonremainsin very good vintage condition and bears no monograms. An interesting spoon for the collector! L: 4 1/8in/10.4cm; W: 11g/0.35 troy oz.
