A FANTASTIC EARLY 18TH CENTURY TRUMPET LEG, QUEEN ANNE PAD FOOTED SIDE-CHAIR WITH STRONG TURNINGS IN GREAT CONDITION AND VERY STRONG FORM IN A FANTASTIC OLD AND DRY DARK STAINED SURFACE AND PATINA. HUDSON VALLEY, NY, CIRCA 1720-1740 IN MAPLE AND ASH.
AN EARLY 18TH CENTURY NEW YORK QUEEN ANNE American side chair with a fully developed and scrolled crest, a highly developed and BOLD center splat and the best boldly turned front stretcher, ending in original inverted trumpet front legs ending is shaped TRIPLE STEPPED Queen Anne Pad feet.
THE FEET ARE TRIPLE STEPPED.
THIS CHAIR HAS VERY BOLD TURNINGS AND POSTS AND THE FEET ARE FULLY DEVELOPED. IT IS FROM THE LOWER HUDSON VALLEY REGION OF NEW YORK.
THIS CHAIR HAS A WONDERFUL OLD DARK STAINED SURFACE WITH GREAT PATINA.
THE WONDERFUL CARVED PAD FEET ARE ALL ORIGINAL AND OF FULL HEIGHT.
THE FRONT TURNED STRETCHER IS DEEPLY TURNED AND VERY BOLD.
THE SPLINT SEAT IS 19TH CENTURY. IT IS IN NICE CONDITION with some minor losses, see photos. IT IS STILL VERY STRONG, STABLE AND WAS BEING USED ON A DAILY BASIS.
This great chair stands 41 1/2\" tall. The seat height is a full 17 3/4\" and is 20\" across.
