Early Hand Forged Knife W/saw Blade - Plains Beaded Sheath For Sale
Up for sale is a unusual plains beaded sheath that is 10-1/4" long not counting the 7" fringe. The sheath appears to be 1920's to me and sinew sewn. Tinklers with dyed horse hair, braided brain tanned leather. No bead loss that I can see. I believe the knife is much older than the sheath. The knife appears to be an early settlers knife that was made from a saw. 2 brass rivets hold it together on Oak handles. The knife itself is 13" long and the blade is 7/8" wide and about 1/16" thick. A very good example of an early knife. A nice patina overall. A very neat relic.
