Very small sized piecingand a wide variety of fabrics make this early Pennsylvania quilt, c.1900 really stand out. Cinnamon pinks and overdyed greens alternate in strips on the backing which also is done in an unusally small scale—the back bars are just two inches wide. The front has more than 300 little triangles with lots of browns, pasileys, shirtings and are all in find condition. Quilting is in diamonds at 7 stitches to the ibch; binding is turned from the front and hand hemed. No wear; no holes. Thin, crisp, clean, this is a strong quilt, ready to use and a beauty to display. Measures 82”x 72”.
