Built by the legendary Ed "Jake" LaMotta, this is a scale model of the Offenhauser powered #12 Dean Van Lines Special driven by Eddie Sachs which sat on the pole at the 1961 Indianapolis 500. The car is not powered, but Jake built these cars with a cast aluminum rear axle mount such that a McCoy .19 race car engine and spur gear drive could be installed by the owner. The body is cast aluminum and measures just under 11 1/2 inches in length. The graphics are hand-painted.
