Eiffel Tower Telephone - L.m. Ericsson 1976 Reissue - Desk / Table Phone :
Swiss TelecomReplicaof L.M. Ericsson's1892-1932 Eiffel Tower Phone. This is the Rare L.M. Ericsson Commemorative Model made to celebrate the Centenary of the telephone in 1976, and is possibly one of the rarest of all LME Skeleton Models with I believe only 1500 ever made. Again, this is the sharpest replica of the 1892-1932 Eiffel ever made by the original manufacturers (LME) in 1976 and refurbished by Swiss Telecom. This phone has nearly all ofthe same materials used in the original including the cast iron base. It is missing one small screw in the receiver (easy fix), and other than that it isin excellent condition. The phone measures approximately 11-3/8 inches tall by 6-1/4 inchesby 5-1/2 inches. Most of the component parts are cast from original Ericsson molds and stampings. The result is a telephone which is nearly indistinguishable from the original. The telephone legs arecast ironlike the original and the magneto exterior core isnickeled steel, also just as the original. The plated & (braided) handset and line cords are identical to that issued with the original phones, which were manufactured between the early 1890’s and early 1930’s. The cradle is the earliest type with “teardrops” on each side. The handset is a perfect replica of the original design issued for the Swedish PTT and also used in Switzerland and other countries. Ericsson avoided modifying the original appearance of the telephone itself and remained 100% faithful to the original issue. In short you will not be disappointed with this beauty that is sure to enhance, and more than likely be the crowning jewel in any-ones vintage collection!! Please email me with any questions.
