This is an authentic Edwardian era The inside has a lustrous gold wash. It's compactly designed to hold coins and also offers a mirror that opens (again, with a spring latch) to reveal a small compartment underneath for powder or whatever. The lid of this compartment has a lining that looks to me like parchment.
The coin slots are intended to hold gold sovereigns and Made by EJB Company (#1821) in the early 20th century-- probably about 1910-- this was carried as a stylish convenience for a quick glance in the mirror, to access change for sundries, transportation, etc... and to carry a calling -Generally fantastic condition with only light surface scratches and three small dents on the back. (Please examine my photos.) All the latches work smoothly, making a crisp little "click" and everything fits together precisely. This was a superbly crafted, fine -Stamped STERLING, EJB (logo), 1821 and the number 48 is also stamped in a couple of -Weighs 67 -Measures about 1 7/8" wide x 2 3/4" -The wristlet chain (I assume it's steel.) adds about a 5" -Sterling -Gold Wash -Sterling Silver
