ELECTRIC SHOCK MACHINE MAGNETO MEDICAL INSTRUMENT BOXED POSO QUACK CURE ANTIQUE

Victorian/Edwardian 'POSO' electric shock quack self remedy/therapy/cure machine, circa 1900
Different from most other shocking machines of the time, this one was designed for self administration.
Chrome plated throughout, brass mechanism, the iron horseshoe magnet painted blue inside. Stained wooden handle with metal colar to complete the circuit.
In full working order, when pushed along the skin the two wheels, through a series of cogs, drive the magneto and give a mild electric shock.
Marked on one side plate 'POSO' PAT'D 243
The wooden box leatherette covered, lined with plumb coloured silk and velvet.
Complete, all original and in excellent condition with no damage or repair, small chrome loss to the magnet, edges worn on the box.
Length of the box 9,3/8" or 238mm, weight 849 grams.
A rare instrument I have found no record of it.
