ELEGANT!! 1930's ART DECO Chrysoprase Glass STERLING LAVALIERE NECKLACE
Offered here is a REMARKABLE example of an antique ART DECO lavaliere necklace......marked "STERLING" on the back, and estimated to be circa 1920/30's.
This is a STUNNING antique necklace that boasts a large CHRYSOPRASE colored GLASS pendant. The "Chrysoprase" cabochon is held within a serrated bezel and mounted on an open backed, Cut-Out FILIGREE frame.....studded with Faux MARCASITES and extensive miligraining throughout. The glass pendant measures 1 1/4 inches wide by 2 inches tall......suspending from a DAZZLING chain comprised of FILIGREE links that mimic and compliment the pendant. The closure is a spring ring clasp that is original to the piece.......and it is RHODIUM over STERLING.
The necklace is an EXQUISITE piece of jewelry from the ART DECO Era that SPARKLES on the neckline!! It measures 15 1/3 inches long....with the lavaliere adding another 2 3/4 inches to the length.
This is an UNUSUAL antique necklace that is very ELEGANT.....and it is in EXCELLENT vintage condition!! Upon close inspection there are a couple scratches and a few tiny nicks on the "Chrysoprase" cabochon.......visible with magnification ONLY, and there is also some pitting, or Rhodium loss that is mainly on the back side of the pendant. It would be a WONDERFUL asset to any vintage/antique jewelry collection.
