For your examination is a genuine bronze Buddha
from a local estate art and antiques collection.Our
local antiques shop believes it is early to mid 1900s.
It is heavy and thought to be made of poured bronze
or iron.It is a substantial sculpture by any standard.
I haveincluded many closeup photos for you
tosee. Its truly an amazing Buddha wonderful estate piece has been in the a Philadelphia
collection and will ship from the Philadelphia suburbs, not from
overseas. I've included many photos for you to examine.
age. There hair was once a vibrant blue paint with
a red ornament on the front, also painted. But the
paint has work anddarkened over the years,
but can still be seen and really makes this
a rare and exceptional Tall x 4-3/4" Wide x 4-1/2" DeepWEIGHS OVER 3-1/2 CONDITION:
The patina is exquisite and shows the usual oxydation
and patination that you'd expect in such a piece. There is
the appropriate wear; the result, I suspect, of much of handling
and touching. As you can see, there are areas of bronze
oxydation, pitting, and in general, wear and tear, scratches,
dings, holes, etc. that are appropriate to its age. It looks old
to me and has signs of having once been gilded, but I
can't guarantee its age as I'm not an expert.
This piece is from a LOCAL Philadelphia estate (ships from
here...not from overseas). Ships to the U.S. via USPS Mail
and will be fully insured for free. If there is damage or loss in
shipping buyer must take the box, packing material and
sculpture to their local post office and file a claim directly.Perfect for desk, book shelf display, coffee table, or pedestal...
I've seensimilar selling in N.Y. Galleries for over $600.00. This
is anAsian antique...Ican't say what it's origin or age is but I'd
guess, Thai ( Sukothai ~Sukhothai~ Budha ~ Buddha ), Chinese,
Japanese; possibly Cambodian. I've searchedunder Buddah,
Budda, Budha, Khmer, Royal, talisman antiquity, Thailand,
China, Japan, Cambodia, Laos, Tribal, Southeast Asia, walking,
standing,monk, ayuthaya, angkor, Lord, period amulet, Phra,
medicine, medicinal,antique era Buddhism, Buddhist, Hindu~
there are many opinions on thisout there. What I can say is
thatthis is a interesting piece from a fabulousPhiladelphia
collection of art and antiques, possibly 19th or 20th century.
I'm not an expert on these sculptures but it appears to
me to have someage. This could be an important
piece; more research is needed.

this Buddha will sell to the highest buyer; there is no Buy It Now;
the sale will not end early. I'm not an expert on Asian antiques,
but this piece looks like it has some age and I believe it is early
to mid 20th Century. Its a powerful sculpture that has a wonderful
