French Officer’s sabre “à la chasseur à Cheval” or Light Cavalry, model Year XI, First Napoleonic Empire, c. 1802-1814. Used by cavalry or mounted officers of Napoleon’s “Grand Armée”. Iron scabbard with two brass bands, still conserving some of the original blue & gilt on the blade.

825x30 mm, the blade; 975x130 mm, the sword; 1,020 mm, the sword with the scabbard.
