The Fitzhughs were English sea captains involved in the China Trade and had this pattern made for the family, it became popular and has been known by the name ever since. This is a \'well and tree\' platter which has an area to collect meat juices with a cross of drainage channels to drain the juices to it. The platter is in very good condition with no damage or repair. There is some kiln grit, and glaze bubbles from manufacture. It is I think the largest size they made - 3.3kg (over7lb) and is 19 inches by 15 inches (48cm by 38cm), a good large size and displays well. US buyers - I have a lot of platters of all different shapes and sizes, if you buy several I can get a good deal on shipping with a courier. For China, I use EMS, UK buyers do not pay more than £11 for shipping, buy as much as you want!
