EXTREMELY RARE 18TH C WROUGHT IRON STANDING TRIVET WITH A FINE UTENSIL HOLDERS
Description:
We just purchased a large quantity of great items from an old collection here in Connecticut. This collection has been locked away in the house and barn for over 20 years waiting for the estate to settle. We were able to find some great iron, lighting and hearthware. All of it is in great old untouched condition. We found some very rare pieces that we just don't see anymore
A GREAT EARLY18TH CENTURY AMERICAN WROUGHT IRON STANDING TRIVET WITH AN ATTACHED PIG TAIL END UTENSIL HOLDER. American, 18th Century, C1760-1780, WITH AN EXTREMELY RARE AND FULLY INTACT TOP IN THE VERY BEST OLD SURFACE AND PATINA.
THIS PIECE IS A VERY RARE SURVIVOR. NOT MANY OF THESE TRIVETS WERE MADE AND EVEN FEWER SURVIVED. IT IS VERY UNUSUAL TO FIND AN EXAMPLE WITHAN ATTACHED UTENSIL HOLDER.
The surface is untouched, uncleaned old quality and patina. Great tool marks throughout.
THIS IS A VERY RARE FORM THAT WE USUALLY ONLY SEE IN THE MORE COMMON TYPE WITHOUT THE UTENSIL HOLDERS OR WITH ONLY ONE.
