Early 1900's Wedgwood Fairyland Lustre Bowl By Daisy Makeig-jones W. Birds:
Beautiful Wedgwood "Fairyland Lustre" Bowl by Daisy Makeig-Jones. The hand painted iridescent bowl has an orange mottled interior with a central gilded hummingbird design. The bird is standing on the edge of a large nest that contains two eggs. Part of a bird is also seen under the nest. The interior rim is decorated with flying red birds that are trimmed with gilt. The exterior part of the bowl is a blue mottled color. There are five different flying birds on the center part of the exterior. The birds are all colored with gilt. The birds have touches of other colors. One large bird is very fancy -- decorated with many colors -- looks like stained glass. All the birds are painted with gilt over the different colors, giving the coloring a stained glass appearance. These birds appear to be hummingbirds. The top rim and base rim are decorated with flying gilt birds. The top and bottom rim are trimmed with gilt. The base has the Portland Vase Mark in gold and "Wedgwood, Z294".SIZE: 2 3/8 inches high x 5 1/8 inches wide.CONDITION: There is one very tiny nick on the bottom part of the base rim. The base has some sticker glue, which I will remove. There is glare in the photos. The bowl is in very good condition.Wonderful display piece -- great design detail.
