Early American sealed beer bottle c1860

On offer is an original deep red amber/blackglass bottle that was hand blown in the 1860 era in the States. Initial research shows it was most likely from the Stoddard Glasshouse in New England.

The bottle is not pontilled, but has a well formed concave base with dot in middle of the recessed bottom, achieved by being hand blown into a two part mould.

Quite a well made bottle for it\'s time with the main indicator of it\'s age being the crudely applied double ring glass lip and its squat shape.

A lovely early beer bottle.
