This handsome early American stoneware ovoid jug is in very good condition. It has a highly ornate, freehand, bold cobalt blue floral design that resembles corn stalks. The blue number 3 is incised. Although the jug is not signed,the floral design, shape, proportions,applied handle and the incised "3" suggestit may possibly be attributed to I. M. Mead of Ohio.

CONDITION: Very good used No Cracks, 2 small stone nicks on left side. Significant, but stable, exfoliation on the front base, extending around the sides of the jug.

Size: 15 inches tall - 10 inches through the middle
