For sale is a straight sided coke bottle... has some damage. Missing part of the top. Several other fisheyes and dings...See photos. No town name.Save me as a favorite seller and keep an eye out for my listings every month for the next couple of months. After much thought, I am selling my entire inventory for a $5 start price on sale.I will be loosing money on many items, but i just have to move them and get out of this business, for reasons stated below.For those of you that will be buying multiple items, (even over the course of 3 or 4 weeks is fine) please do NOT pay until i send an invoice with combined shipping!!Also i will gladly allow pickup of items for no additional charges... no shipping if you pick up. The shipping calculator rarely combines shipping correctly and customer service is a nightmare when it comes to getting fees back on overcharges on combined shipping so if you pay before i send invoice on multiple items i will not refund you any shipping difference!!!! In that case i will give you credit toward future purchases.
I am tired of fighting and paypal at every turn for the right to do business with them... both of these companies have made it harder and harder on small sellers, like myself, since i began selling here a number of years ago. has become less and less friendly to sellers who aren\'t in the \"move it quick and make a few cents\" profit category. That\'s the problem with many collectibles, you just can\'t really do that and make enough profit to justify the time.
I have to wait for free listing days in order to list and those have gone from 500 items to 50 to 100 items at a time... i don\'t have enough profit margin to have a store and i am not a penny profit business. I have to sit around and dribble out a few listings a month and i am just tired of it. Just not worth my time or the headaches any more.
charges what is essentially a \"shipping tax\" of 10% seller fees on shipping. Buyers don\'t like getting hit with shipping fees that are above actual shipping, so i either have to eat the fees or get hit with lower than 5 star response. That puts me in a bad position as a seller. When that first hit sellers i called to complain and the nice lady with explained to me that I could just offer free shipping and i wouldn\'t have to pay the fees on shipping! I asked her if she was really that stupid or if she just thought i was... and i wanted to know the number to the \"shipping fairy\" that shipped free because even if i offer free shipping the money to ship has to come out of the proceeds on the sale of that item, meaning i am paying fees on shipping still!
I used to be a TRS in , but since they changed to the rule where you have to offer a one day handling time, i just cant do it any more. I have a real job, like most everyone else and there is no way i can have a one day handling time, so the TRS status means far less than it used to.... another way pushes sellers to do business the way THEY want them to do business.
And the last straw was Paypal, which i thought had been separated from due to conflict of interest but does not allow sellers to accept any other form of payment, other than credit cards, which i am not set up to do and do not want yet another headache... interesting that pretty much still forces sellers to offer paypal as a payment option... Paypal recently sent me an email telling me that my account had been restricted because i haven\'t given them my tax id number. When i called to explain that my account was nowhere near the irs limits, i was told i was \"on track\" to hit those limits and that is why my account was limited. On track in my case was not 95% or 85% or even 75% of the limit... in my case i am merely 60% of the limit for both numbers and $$ amount. Why would i give my tax id number when i will never go over the limit in an age where identity theft is so rampant? Paypal is essentially extorting me by locking my account, so, like i said, i am tired of fighting companies that should be helping me grow my business instead of put a chokehold on me.
I put all of this into my listings as i sell off my inventory not to gain sympathy from other sellers, but so and paypal will know they are loosing yet another seller because of their unfriendly (to sellers) business practices and might take note and decide they want to make changes that will help other sellers.
I will still be selling the occasional bottle or so, as i come across items for pennies on the dollar (pretty rare these days but it does happen), but i will no longer be buying and keeping an inventory of 400+ bottles. I just can\'t deal with the /paypal headaches any more.
