Painting - 13.5" x 17" / Frame - 17" x 21" Beautiful landscape painting depicting the Santa Cruz Mountains from a high meadow above the Woodside - Los Altos, California area of the San Francisco Peninsula. Although the painting is not titled or the location noted on the work itself, this is the probable area of the view and Hubacek was known to paint this area frequently.
This piece is painted in a sophisticated impressionist manner with fine brushwork and a light palette. The paint covers the canvas and there are areas of a thicker impasto. The composition is balanced and the painting creates a very dimensional and pleasing view of this Northern California coastal region.
