Early "ioof" Sword & Scabbard/germany Clauberg Solingen/gold Wash Blade/ Patina:
You are offerding on this very nice and solid , early IOOF , or Old Fellows Lodge, sword and scabbard, that is in great shape, but for the patina. The blade has never been shaped or mess with and has no nicks in it. The blade does look as though it was ordered with a Gold Splash , I don't know what else would make it look that way. It does say M.C.Lilley Co. Columbus,Oh. on one side, and has the oval Clauberg Solingen on the other side. The sword is 35" long alone, and the scabbard is 29 1/4" long by itself. Does have all very shape logo and designs on it, and all are very ledgable without damage to the higher spots of the artworks. Does have the fellows name of "W.S.Hannum" in the middle of the one side. I have gotten a couple different opinions on this, about the age mostly, and I believe if you are a collector of fraternal items, that you know more about this than the 2 opionion I have ask for, and Me put together. Wish I knew how to restore it for myself. sale. Thanks for looking.
