Clark, for Henry Herringman at the Blew Anchorin the New Exchange, MDCLXXXIII (1683)Bound in full contemporary leather with five raised bands to spine. There is a leather and gilt title label and gilt decoration to the compartments. A tall volume, it measures approx 30.4cm x 20cm x 4.7cm. As can be seen from the photos, the corners and edges are rubbed and worn, and a little bumped and chipped. Both the front and rear hinges are cracking, and thus the boards are only held by bindings threads, and are a touch shaky, but in no danger of detaching. However because of this, the leather to the spine/board edges is starting to peel. The top and bottom of the spine is chipped, with loss, and headband broken. The gilt decoration is rubbed and worn, and the title label is a little chipped. Internally, the front fixed endpaper has peeled from its board, and is almost entirely loose, and is a bit browned/foxed and creased, and with a couple of ink letters. The front free endpaper and frontispiece are missing. The rear endpapers have worming (affecting the board) in varying placesand degrees. The The title page is printed in red and black, and is rather browned and grubby, with a few scattered ink smudges. The contents have some worming to the margins throughout, in varying degrees, heavier to the the last few leaves of index and rear endpapers, see images. The leaves have some light browning, and a little scattered foxing in places, with some light dustiness and grubbiness to the top of some margins. There are a few scattered ink annotations, underlinings, and markings in places. There is asomepage misnumbering in places, although all text is continuous. Else on the whole, the main body of the contents are in mostly bright and reasonable condition.
