Offered here is the rarest and one of the earliest pieces available by the world famous artist; Rose Cabat (1914-2015) This hand sculpted ceramic lady\'s head was purchased from Ms. Cabat\'s Estate sale offered by Carchedi Estate sales inc. in Tucson Arizona shortly after her death. Hard to believe she was already a master at age 26 , her age at the time she made this wonderful sculpture. . This piece is signed and dated RC 8 1940. Appears to have been broken and repared with a rather celebrated repair technique which celebrates the breaks in a very dramatic way . No attempt was made to mask the repairs . It gives the impression that it was made this way (as if to mimic an ancient antiquity). This is a master piece that I can look at every day and never tire of it\'s powerful expression. To me, this might be her most important piece prior to her Feelie pieces. This piece predates her famous “feelie” pots. Has the incised signature to base RC 8 1940. Locals tell me that every Wednesday they gathered at the artist\'s home and all admired this piece as part of her private collection. So, this has been seen in her home by hundreds of people prior to her death. Measures: 13\" H x 7\" W X 11\" D. Weighs 9 pounds. Condition; as pictured. This is in Tucson Arizona and I would happily deliver it rather than mail it to the next owner .
