Early U.s. Forest Service Padlock & Chain, Solid Brass Yale Lock, National Parks:
Vintage United States Forest Service Padlock & Chain, Solid Brass Yale Lock. This is not a reproduction. This early USFS lock is in a closed position and there is no key. It is in vintage condition, with dings, dents, scratches, some white paint around the top of the lock and on parts of the chain. The shackle has some dents from lots of use, and the photos show it all. I did not clean it, that's up to you. It has the USFS tree logo with "Made for, U.S. Forest Service" around it on one side. The other side says "Yale". The bottom, where you insert the key, has "26525" on it. The chain is 9" long and the last 3 links are dented up. It measures 2 3/4" from top of the shackle to the bottom of the lock and is 1 7/8" wide. It is the first design of padlocks made specifically for the forest service and is very old. Super cool piece of US Forest Service history.
