Early Vintage Kay Acoustic Parlor Guitar With Well Traveled Case Circa 1940s:

You\'re offerding on a cool vintage Kay Musical Instrument Co. acoustic guitar - it\'s a flat top parlor style guitar, I\'ve looked it over thoroughly and cannot find any model markings, but it does have a fairly early-looking headstock label. Guitar does have some condition issues - quite a bit of wear on and at the edges the fretboard, apparently from being well-loved and frequently played; a veneer crack at bottom center below the bridge (see photo), some slight warping that I was not able to photograph adequately to the left of the sound hole, and some wear and loss to the applied black pinstriping on the front and back.
All that said, it still has a great look, appears all original including a cool vintage pick guard, the neck does have some slight bowing (see photo) but it seems playable (although it needs re-stringing). Complete with case, which is at least as cool as the guitar - the leatherette cover is a little battered, the handle is worn, and the cover to the inside compartment is mostly detached - but it\'s solid, and it\'s absolutely covered with vintage shipping and travel labels that suggest this guitar has been around the world. One of the labels has a 1940 date, so if guitar and case are original to each other this is probably a 1930s-1940s vintage instrument. Honestly, it would seem to be kind of a cheap guitar for a working, traveling musician but maybe not so bad for the Depression era. Dimensions are 36\" long, max width of about 13 1/2\" and about 4\" thick. Case will be slightly larger.
