Early19thc George Washington Marquis De Lafayette Transferware Staffordshire Cup For SaleEarly English transferware cup with George Washington on one side and the other side, Marquis de Lafayette, identified to me by a very kind er shortly after this listing started. I was told, "The other figure on the cup is the Marquis de Lafayette; based on his dress the cup likely commemorates his return trip to the US in the 1820s, where he toured widely and was much celebrated...and or the country's sesquicententennial (50th anniversary) in 1826." The opening is 2 3/4" in diameter. It is just shy of 1 3/4" tall. The top edge is a bit rough but it doesn't seem to be chipped. The bottom edge as a tiny which I wasn't able to photograph. It is rather primitively made with a sandy texture, particularly in on the inside.I guarantee the authenticity of this item and its being consistent with my description. If I am in error, I will provide a full refund, including two way shipping. Please see a small dish or saucer that I am currently selling on , also with the bust of Washington. Thank you. other items
