About this Item:

Edward Anthony(January 31, 1819 – December 14, 1888), American photographer and co-founder ofE. & H. T. Anthony & Company, five 19th centurystereoviews. Anthony wasn't so much known for his personal photography as he was for being the premier manufacturer and distributor of photographic supplies in the United States in his time. He was also known for his close business associations with famed Civil War-era photographer, Mathew Brady.

FiveE. & H. T. Anthony & Company stereoview captures of different scenes throughout Central Park, New York. Each bears an identifying label on verso. The five scenes include, "The Ramble," "The Casino, " "The Terrace 'Winter'," "The Bow Bridge" and "Swans on the Lake," the latter dated 1863.

Measuring approximately 6.75 x 3.25, these stereoviews are inoverall fine condition, with the expected wear and mild soiling.
