This is a beautiful lidded/hinged tea caddy, designed in an oriental style. It is solid silver, fully hallmarked on both the body and the lid for Sheffield, the date letter \"U\" for 1912, and the maker\'s mark of William Hutton & Sons, one of the best known quality period silversmiths of that era. Total sterling weight is just over 132 grams.The caddy is in original unrestored condition so it will need to be polished back to its former glory, but structurally it is in excellent condition with no dents or bumps and a beautifully clean interior. The hinge works perfectly, the lid snaps shut very tightly so it could actually still be used for its original purpose. Please look at the photographs for details.
