Edwardian Titanic Blue Silk Embroidered Gold Lace Beaded Gown Hosac Chicago Label
This Edwardian Titanic era blue silk embroidered gold lace beaded gown Hosac Chicago label dates from 1912. It is made of a cornflower blue color silk fabric, with raised padded satin stitch embroidery work, gold metallic and ecru lace embroidered trim yoke and sleeves. There is gold and blue beading, sequins on the yoke and crystal beaded fringe trim on the bottom back skirt. This beautiful ball gown has a long floor length back train skirt, layered long sleeves, hook closures on the back and is fully lined in silk, with stays boning sewn inside the bodice. There is a "Hosac Chicago" designer label sewn onto the inside waistband. The dress measures 52 inches long in the front, 65 inches long in the back, with 36 inch hips, a 26 inch waist, 34 inch bust and 13 inch back. It is in as-is condition, with staining frays underarm and some faint discoloration along the side hip area and bottom skirt hemline (see close-up). There are some loose missing beads and a few small holes in the lace netting. This is truly an exceptional quality made piece of wearable art!
