MUSIMA SPEZIAL made in GDR/Germany in the 1950's:
Fullsize 17" archtop body with venetian cutaway. Fine spruce top with the typical 'German carve', solid maple sidesand carved maple back. Glossy translucent amber sunburst finish.
Overall length: 42.5" (108cm), Scale: 25.4" (64.5cm).
Neck-width: 41mm at the nut / 52mm at the 12th fret.
Body: 16.75" (42.5cm) wide, 20.85" (53cm) long and 3.35" (8.5cm) deep.
Ebony fretboard with 18 frets plus zero-fret, celluloid fret markers. Slim D-shaped bolt-on 'everstraight' mahogany / maple neck with ebony stripe. Adjustable bridge.
A masterbuilt instrument with clear jazzy tone and perfect separation of single notes. Great for all kinds of music, especially for jazz and swing.
This guitar is factory-equipped with a genuine Rellogg-Gitona SC pickup hidden inside the fretboard extender. The signal is routed to 4mm banana jacks at the neck heel.
The electronic works and sounds great.
Excellent condition considering the age. The tuners appear to be new, two tiny holes from a pickguard that is missing. Few dents, spots, scratches and other traces of use are present of course. The guitar sounds great and has therefore been played a lot.
Straight neck, low action - app. 3mm at the 12th fret !
