Here is the Art DecoEmerson Seagull 10\" desk fan from 1935 in good working condition.
This single speed oscillating fan moves a lot of air without banging or rattles and with an smooth oscillating swing free of any jerking movement. The fan is in as-found condition with the metal base and motor being free of chips and cracks but with worn paint on the base, blades, cage, and motor.
The seagull decal is in good shape and the stylized seagull is on the cage top though it has significant wear to the finish. The power cord is original with a taped repair at about the midpoint. The plug is original as is the on/off switch which works fine. The bottom is in place as the photo shows.
The fan has just been wiped to remove the dust. The fan has not been oiled as I assume that collectors have their own views on what\'s appropriate.
It appears that a fairly simple restoration would deliver a working collectible beauty.
The Emerson Seagull fan measures about 14\" H x 11\" W x 7\" D and weighs about 6 lbs. unpacked. It will be safely packed and quickly sent by FedEx Ground. I charge only the expected shipping cost with insurance. I\'ll refund an overcharge which was significantly higher than the actual shipping cost.
