FINEST ENGLISH VICTORIAN STERLING SILVER ARABESQUE PUNCH BOWL; FROM MAMMETT & SON, 1899; 42 OUNCES; EXCELLENT CONDITION
We are pleased to offer this English sterling silver Arabesque punch bowl.
From the rarely seen Sheffield firm of William Mammett & Son in 1898. First listed in 1885 on Arundel Street.
In unusually deep side wall circular form.
Adorned with brilliantly applied Arabesque shell and floral streams rising from base.
The top with swirling vine supporting centre acanthus, above bead framed tear drop. Followed by elaborate series of shell and floral displays, and swirling vine.
Victorian sterling silver Persian inspired punch bowl is 10 3/8 diameter and 7 tall.
Exceptionally thick heavy guage sterling weighs 42 1/2 (standard) ounces.
Hallmarked as shown.
In excellent condition. Rich, lustreous sterling patina throughout. Stands perfectly firm on table. The Arabesque shell and floral decoration retain their original detail. Few tiny shallow dints to interior and professional removal, no thinning.
