We are pleased to offer this monumental English sterling silver salver.

Selling our entire 40 year collection of 18th, 19th a d early 20th century British silver.

In the Neoclassical manner.

From Mappin and Webb in 1915.

The circular form with ribbon crossed leaf and berry rim.

Brilliantly pierced and chased classical border. Raised mask in oval medallion and framed by cornucopia. Alternating with fluted garden urn brimming over with flowers, flanked by majestic chained lion.

The center with hand engraved series of spread wing eagle on pedestal. United by swirling leaf and floral.

Atop boldly cast winged leaf twin florette lion paw feet.

This palace size salver has never been monogrammed.

Monumental English chained lion salver is 19 1/2 inches 113 1/2 standard ounces.

Hallmarked as shown.

In excellent condition. Rich, lustreous sterling patina throughout. The mask, lion and eagle and floral retain original detail.
