(This is correct denotation for FIRST EDITION and FIRST PRINTING of this book.)Bound in brown calf over marbled tan, green, cream and brown boards, spine in six compartments separated by five raised bands, ruled and decorated in gilt, with elaborate gilt floral devices, title and author name in second compartment against a red leather background. A most handsome presentation.NEAR FINE (Near Pristine) interior in a FINE (Pristine) leather binding. A clean, bright, tight copy with no previous owner\'s names nor other owner markings. Very clean interior and exterior. Tips and ends sharp. Firmly bound. Tight, perfectly square copy. Perhaps two or three small freckle like spots to the margins of a few pages. A lovely clean copy of the true first edition in a beautiful binding.
