This excellent antique French violin
is offered to the highest buyer with .
The violin is guaranteed to be authentic and genuine.
The violin was likely made around 1900 or so in Mirecourt, France, possibly in the workshop of Mark Laberte. This is an excellent example , very well preserved and in excellent condition. There are no cracks, no repairs and it is original. The violin has been heavily used over the past century. There are nicks and scratches as would be expected but the varnish is excellent and original, beautifully French polished, and the the violin has a fresh, glossy and clean appearance. The workmanship is very clean and typically French. This is one of the best grades of Mirecourt violins made during this period. This violin is exceptionally well set-up with fine rosewood fittings and an excellent old bridge perfectly fitted to the violin. The violin plays very smoothly and easily on Thomastik Dominant strings. The violin tunes easily, the pegs turn smoothly and hold well, and the set-up makes the violin easy to play, fast and responsive. This violin has a huge, powerful sound. It is a very responsive and has the willingness and power to really perform. This is a tone that is certainly on the darker side, but with tremendous flexibility and and a creamy, rounded, mature quality to the sound. This is a very capable tool for an accomplished and demanding player. It is a well-balanced sound, quite warm yet with the brilliant edge a performer needs. It is even and smooth across the strings and clear and clean all the way up the fingerboard. There is not a wolf tone to be heard, even way up on the G string. It is warm, sonorous and delightfully clean, pure and easily accessible. The violin has more than just a touch of brilliance and the ability to penetrate, but it is remarkable for its warmth and sweetness that is at the very core of the instrument. This is a violin that does everything well, from the lower positions right up the fingerboard. It is clear, clean, and very easy to play. It has the body and focus as well as the solid core of a soloist violin and the punch and projection necessary to deliver the message; even in the largest halls. For those who have played a fine antique concert violin, all the depth, richness and clear focus of this violin will not be a surprise. But for those who have not had the pleasure of playing a truly fine instrument, this violin will undoubtedly be a rare treat. It has a mellow singing voice, rich and full. I was so impressed by the sound of this violin, I had a Boston professional violinist and concert soloist play it and evaluate it to confirm my own impressions. He felt that it had the tonal quality and power equal to satisfy the most demanding of players. In his words, "Whoever buys this violin will certainly be pleased with it." This violin is for the professional performer who needs a really capable performance instrument. It has my very highest recommendation as a superior sounding, professional grade class="MsoNormal" align="center">The starting offer is $49 and there is !
