Thisis an Excelsior Porcelain Plate commemorating the Jewish State of Israel. The front of the plate is dated 1948, but I believe the plate to have been manufactured in the 1960\'s. The colors are vivid for the age of the plate. On the front is a map of Israel and a sketch of Herzl. On the back are quotes from the Bible. The quotes are from Genesis and are the Lord\'s promise to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. It was designed by Reverend Judah L. Wise and was reproduced by Excelsior. The plate measures 10 1/8\" in diameter.
All of my items arefrom a smoke free Environment. I do purchase my items fromestate sales and flea markets. I don\'t know where they have been since thebeginning of time, but I make every effort to purchase items that are smellfree. I never mask the odors, so what you get is the way I get them. Items mayhave storage dust or flea market dust on them. I wipe them down, but I never doa complete detailed cleaning on them. That sometimes destroys their value.
