An iconic Teaset designed by Archibald Knox for Liberty & Co, around 1905
Comprises a teapot, a milk jug and a sugar bowl (3 pieces)
Although not uncommon, this set is in particularly good condition with a superb, original patination (the pot has minor tarnishing): quite unlike the oft-seen overpolished examples
Measures: Teapot - 9 cm high, maximum length 24 cm, jug - 7 cm high, 11 cm diameter, bowl - 6 cm high, 11 cm diameter
Each piece is signed: ENGLISH PEWTER; MADE BY LIBERTY & Co, and numbered 0231 some with an RD numbers: 420290

Please note: As can be seen from the photo showing the underside of the Teapot, it is not flat as is the case with the jug and bowl. There are some undulations on either side of the 2 sleds. I have been advised by a 'Connoisseur' of Liberty & Co objects that this is not damage but the result of boiling water causing the softened pewter to bend under its weight - a process that could be reversed to produce the original, unused shape. To be fair, any offers made prior to this note may be cancelled if so wished.
