Exceptional Gothic James W Tufts Victorian Silverplate Pitcher Figural Gargoyle For Sale
Up for sale is a stunning water pitcher from James W. Tufts of Boston. Tufts items were highly detailed quadruplate pieces and are difficult find as they only operated for 27 years between 1875-1902. By the design, I would place this in the early part of their years as the Gothic Revival of the US was said to have occured in the third quarter of the 19th century or closest to the 1875 mark. This pitcher needs a bit of time and elbow grease to clean it up as it has the charcoal appearance unique to tarnished quadruple plate. There are a couple of dents along the base but the body is very heavy and therefore pretty free from any kind of dents or dings. It measures 8" tall and has the figural gargoyles both on the spout and the handle. Shipping set at $8.50
