An exceptional Chinese Yixing teapot by one of the most important modern Yixing master Ji yishun 季益順。

The teapot is known as the \'\' Plum blossom, Pine and Bamboo\'\' pot. The lid is shaped as a plum blossom. The spout is a pine root with root branchesextending to parts of the teapot. There are some pine cones on the branches.The handle is made in the shape of a bamboo branch.

There are seals of the artist on the base of the teapot and inside the lid. The Chinese writings on a sticker in the photos are written the name of the pot and the name of the artist.

This teapot, in my opinion, is a perfect teapot. It has details, class and everything about it is perfection. It is definitely an outstanding piece of artwork among the already beautiful Yixing wares.

The artist Mr. Ji Yishun was actually born in Yixing, Jiangshu Province. He has achieved a lot of fame and titles in the world of Yixing collectors.

-Member of Chinese Arts & Crafts Institute

-Member of the Chinese Industry Design Society

-Vice Director of the Yixing Red Pottery Culture Research Committee

-Vice Chairman of the Yixing Art AssociationHe is currently the Chief Crafts Master of the Chinese Red Pottery Museum in Jiangsu. He also holds other positions in the Yixing collector\'s circle. There are videos on You Tube about Mr. Ji you can research.

His works are collected in Museum all over China. His works are recognised all over the world but especially by the Chinese elites.

I can\'t remember where I bought this teapot. Most likely in China in the 1980s in an exhibition. Mr Ji wasquite well known then but not as much as he is now. Asimilar teapot of Mr Ji\'s recently sold for over 250,000 yuan or equivalent of overUS$45,000.

I have this teapot sitting in a box for over 20 years. It was not even opened and there are some salt inside the pot when I opened it. Dehumidifying pouches were not available widely in those days.

Since Mr. Ji is only in his 50s, the value of the teapot can only go up. This is a once in a life time chance to own this master piece.

Each item has a story and when possible I hand carried in my luggage from all over the world to bring back to Australia.
